2015 Mercedes-Benz SLC 300 20 yeas have passed from the birth of the segment and now Mercedes-Benz team decides to relaunch the beauty with a new name: SLC. Optimized and improved, the vehicle has a lot to demonstrate and a lot to offer. Closely related to the C-CLass, the vehicle changes name to acknowledge the new sportier spirit it delivers. In fact, there are two additions to the lineup: Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 and the base model SLC 180. So, let's check out what the new beauties have to offer.

Exterior design

As part of the facelift, Mercedes-Benz engineers have further enhaned the sporty look. In the front the sweetie proudly demonsstrates an arrow-shaped bonnet and a restyled diamond radiator grille. The sporty front section also includes a restyled bumper, new air intakers and distinctive headlights.

The sides demonstrate the well-known lines of a roadster with long bonnet and shorter rear. The appearance is defined by a sweet rising beltline and sweeping curve of the roof. The sporty 16- to 18-inch light alloy wheels further enhance the sporty, yet stylish appearance.

The rear of the vehicle proudly demonstrates a muscular wing and restyled bumper, black diffuser, elegant chrome details and integral tailpipe trim. The backlights are slightly narrower, but the LED technology is still present. The boot lid has that sweet arrow shape, while the third brake light is positioned in the spoiler lip.

In terms of exterior finish colors the sweeties are offered with the entry-level Bkac with Iridium Silver Louvre and chrome elements. For further personalization custmers can relate to AMG Line or the Night package that offers chrome finish for the radiator grille and Iridium Silver finish by AMG Line or high-gloss Black via the Night Package.

Interior design

The cabin continues the beautiful and stylish exterior concept and at the same time offers numerous new features. Highlights include the dark aluminum parts and carbon-fiber elements. The central console has also undergone comprehensive revision. Generally the cabin welcomes you to a cozy, yet sporty and functional place.

The large TFT display gives every important information about vehicle's condition, while the beautiful analogue clock with black dial can be ordered as an optional feature. Furthermore, the electroplated control panel for adjusting the seats and the electroplated multifunctional sterring wheel along with shift paddles ensure smooth and rewarding driving experience.

The leather features has also been heavily revised. The sun-reflexing leather upholstery and Nappa leather dominate the whole cabin and can be ordered with distinctive colored stitching. In fact, there are two additional colors: Saddle Brown and Platinum White.

Drivetrain system

The entry-level model is capable of producing a total of 156 hp (115kW) and offers a fuel consumption measured at 5.6L/100km and CO2 emissions of 127g/km. SLC 200 comes with power ouput of 184hp (135kW) and the SLC 300 offers 245hp (180kW). SLC 180 and 200 models are geared with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while 250d, 300 and SLC43 feature a comfort-oriented 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.

Furthermore, the vehicles can switch driving characteristics via the DYNAMIC SELECT system that offers a total of five driving modes: "Comfort", "Sport", "Sport+", "Eco" and "Individual". All of them can be easily selecting with the pressign on a single button.

Additional equipment

The new features of SLC include the Active Brake Assist, radar-based proximity warning and braking assistance by Adaptive Brake Assist. Of course, Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist are part of the standard equipment.

The vehicles can also be optionally geared with LED Intelligent Light System that automatically adapts to the light and road conditions. This LED technology features low energy consumption, longlivery and of course, perfectly illuminated road ahead. Furthermore, the Adaptive High Beam Assist Plus will ensure the optimal lightning range.

Additional features are the Traffic Sign Assist, Reverse camera, Parking Assist PARKTRONIC and many more.
