It is always interesting, when you put an enormous V8 into a small car. This time, a team from the Daimler facility in Rastatt fitted 5.5 liter V8 from E500 into B-class.

The engine with code M273 develops 383PS (282 kW) and 530 Nm (391 lb-ft). It is mated to a -speed G-Tronic transmission. All that power is sent to the rear wheels. The tuned B-class is fitted with G-Tronic's drive shaft going into the rear axle from an old E430 (E-Class). The safety systems are also present - ABS, ASR, ESP and limiting top speed to 250 km/h, which seems a lot for such a small car. However, the acceleration is astonishing. Mercedes B55 does the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 5.2 seconds.

Mercedes B55 stands on 18" AMG wheels fitted with performance tire. The interior boats leather finish, sport leather seats and custom gauges.

The whole project took 8 months, but the car has no analogue on the roads. Even Golf R and Civic Type-R are miles behind B55.
