Citroen unveiled today the C-Zero, which expands the French manufacturer's compact vehicle range with a 100% electric solution. The new Citroen C-Zero electric car is developed in cooperation with Mitsubishi, and that is the main reason for its similarity with the i-MiEV. Offering zero fuel consumption, zero CO2 emissions and zero noise, the new electric vehicle is scheduled to hit the market in the last-quarter of 2010.

Just like its i-MiEV brother, the C-Zero is designed to make the urban driving easier, by offering compact, quiet and comfortable ride. The eco-friendly vehicle is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor delivering 47 kW or 64 bhp and 180 Nm of maximum torque, transmitted to the rear axle via a single-speed reduction gear. A new-generation 330-volt lithium-ion battery system mounted in the centre of the vehicle supplies the motor with a proper amount of electric energy. Recharging the battery pack is easy as 1,2,3, just plug the supply cord into a 220-volt socket and wait for 30 minutes for an 80% charge or six hours for a complete charge.
