Basically, for this launch Volvo shows the importance of the car as being a technological booster for the brand. Indeed, it is a technological innovation, worth putting attention on. This is why the series of those entertaining webisodes were created. Their title "Unboxing" stands for the revealing of the revolutionary technical innovations of the world's first diesel plug-in hybrid.

In particular, 2012 Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid can be recharged from a regular power outlet (230V/6A, 10A or 16A), and it drives up to 50 km on Pure mode (battery) with zero tailpipe emissions. What has to be highlighted here is that the CO2 emissions in Hybrid mode are as low as 49g/km, and they are corresponding to diesel consumption of 1.9l/100 km.

The car has a total range of up to 1,000 km. And when the driver selects the Power mode, the V60 develops its maximum power up to 280 horsepower (206 kW). Then the acceleration from 0 to 100km/h can happen in just 6.2 seconds.
